It's all about connections...

A first time family of four came to the Information Desk two Sundays ago and asked where to find a certain Community Group.  They connected with an information volunteer who connected them with a guide. On the way to the community group the guide asked the teen sons if they'd like to attend the high school community group. They declined, but they did want to see where the high school met in case they wanted to attend the following week. Meanwhile, the parents were talking with a community group leader who connected them to a community group that better targeted their current needs.

 

In community group, the parents connected with a man sitting at their round table and they shared some of the difficult circumstances of their lives.  They said they were ready to give God another chance. Before class was over, the guide touch based with an adult high school leader who brought two high school guys to meet and connect with the boys who had attended community group with their parents.     

 

The following Sunday, the mom returned with her high school daughter who hadn't come the week before.  In community group that morning, they signed up to attend the Family Game night that was coming up the next Saturday.  We look forward to making many more connections with them there...

 

When asked how they came to Central, they said, "We've driven past this church hundreds of times.  A few weeks ago a friend at work invited me (the mom) to attend church and her community group.  We came because we were invited..."

 

A connection at work resulted in an invitation to church and community group.  Their visit the first Sunday led to a connection with an informatin desk volunteer, a guide, a community group leader, a community group attender, a high school youth leader and two high school attenders.  And we hope, somewhere in the midst of all of this, a re-connection with Christ!

 

We've got to ask ourselves who we are connecting with outside the walls of our church.  And who are we inviting to connect with Christ and His people here at Central on Sunday mornings.   It's all about connections...
