    A Day of Influence

Saturday was quite a day. Central Wesleyan people spread love and the Good News to many!

    Breakfast With Baby
Sixty families came to Breakfast with Baby this past weekend. Jan again gave a clear presentation of the gospel. We pray for the hearts that were touched by her words. One simple, yet powerful moment came when a woman approached one of our volunteers and asked if we had a Bible she could have. He looked around because he had just given out the last one earlier in the morning. He did however have a copy of the New Testament. She was a bit disappointed as she was hoping to have “the whole” Bible. Without hesitation, Maria, who was not part of the conversation, grabbed her personal Bible and handed it to the woman, saying please take this one. Wow. Simple yet powerful.

    Second Saturday Serving
For Second Saturday Serving we began the morning by raking lawns. We had four-year-olds up to grandmothers helping out! Request Foods once again donated frozen meals for the community, so our team then knocked on every door of Harbor Village and Meadowlanes and offered frozen Turkeys and Gravy Bakes. We also invited each person to our Community Thanksgiving Feast this coming Sunday. Many people were in tears over being given a meal. One person said, “I never have things given to me.” We shared many thank yous, smiles, and hugs.

    Alpha Getaway
Words really cannot describe the Alpha Getaway on Saturday. Thirty-three people spent the day talking about what it means to be a follower of Christ and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. For those of us who are walking, it was a much-needed reminder of who we are in Christ. For those who are still searching, God used the time to bring them closer to Him. Saturday night was a powerful time of prayer. There is a ton of pain and hurt in the lives of people in our church and community. Please pray for Rob and the internal conversations he’s having with God. He has grown so much. Rob is not very outgoing, yet he got up and prayed for each person as they shared their hurts in our prayer chair. He walks with a cane, and when it became too much for him to physically get up and down, he simply pulled up a chair in front our prayer chair and held out his cane for each person to hold as we prayed for him or her.

    It was a great weekend.
