Immediate Intervention Saves a Life (Counseling Center)

Super Bowl Sunday is a great time for relationships and sports fans. Imagine my surprise as my cell phone began ringing in the final seconds as the Steelers pulled out a nail-biter and won. On the other line was a parent in pain who was waiting for the police to bring his teenage son home from what might have been a suicide attempt. The young man wanted to talk with me, and the police officer agreed to wait while we carried on a 20-minute conversation about things that had transpired and were leading to the feelings of defeat and hopelessness. Assured that there was no immediate threat and that he would be closely monitored by his parents until I could see him on Monday, I went to bed with the peace of knowing God again had used the opportunities to interact with this young man to bring about life change.
