What an experience it was doing the Christmas Project Plunge. When I was asked to participate I only did it to spend time with my teenage daughter who I wasn't able to see much. I wasn't ready for the impact that God was about to leave on my heart when I left those children that afternoon.
When we arrived at the mall they paired us up with the children who were nervous, but excited. Each child had in mind just what they wanted to get; we just needed to find it in the price range that was set aside for them to spend.
One of the children was walking behind us most of the time and just admiring what his siblings were buying. When it came time for him to make his choices he looked at us and said, "I want to get the microwave. My mom really needs that." Well, because of a good deal at the store and the people at Central we were able to bless that mother with a microwave on Christmas morning!
When the afternoon was over and we left the children with their moms, it was neat to know in my heart that we were able to do Gods work and bless this mom of four kids with a gift that I take for granted every time I need to warm something up.
May God bless you as you generously give of your time and money to this years' Christmas Project Plunge.
