Little Things Really Do Make a Difference!
At the times when we get to wondering "Do the little things really make a difference?", God reminds us that in His Kingdome they really do! On Sunday, February 25 God reminded me again that He uses everything that we do for Him for His purposes. First of all, it was Jerry and my turn (this winter we were destined to go out on the "bad weather" Sundays!) to take the shuttle and pick up residents from the two mission locations. In case you aren't aware, about 15 months ago Jody and Judy Boyles changed the Sunday pick-up to a couple's ministry, so Jerry and I headed out together. After we dropped them off at church one of the women from Family Hope Ministries, who was new, asked me about attending a class after the service. Jerry and I ended up taking "Sue" (made up name) to the Information Center, and then to sit with us during the service. After the service I was able to show Sue where the class was, and then God reminded me that I had Gathering Grounds "Moolah" in my purse. Jerry and I had been given the "Moolah" at the Small Group Leaders dinner, and I felt led to pass it on. Sue was able to enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for her class to start.
On this morning God used Central's bus driving ministry, First Impressions, and Small Group ministry (remember the "Moolah" I had in my purse?) to reach out and make "Welcome to Central" personal. And it was so exciting to see it come together! When we dropped Sue off she said, "It's been an awesome morning".
Let me just add at the end here that we are looking for one more couple who would like to minister together on Sunday a month by picking up resident of the mission locations (and possibly other places as God leads), and making them feel welcome at Central. If this sounds like it might be you, contact Laura Courtright at church, Judy Boyles, or myself. God bless you!
