My name is Terrie Miller and my whole life is a God story but today I want to share the latest...
I am rather new to Central but have joined the choir and attend 9:15 continued. In October a business had dropped into my lap. I now own and run the Holland Bus station. This has been one miracle after another. God's message to me has been that this is a ministry first and a business second. I instantly found a need to give suitcases, backpacks, duffle bags etc. to many in need that walk through these doors. I had given even one bag my son was using to someone in need. I had also found that a Bible in your hand just before a long bus journey is such a treasure. I had many extra's laying around and had given them all away. I brought this need to my Sunday School Class and the choir and they responded with such generosity. Many people have been touched by God these last two months through their thoughtfulness.
The first recipient of our luggage give away was a mother and her four children who arrived here to go to a women's shelter escaping an abusive relationship. Everything they owned was in garbage bags. What smiles on those children's faces to receive a backpack for their few belongings.
One gentleman received Christ right here. He was in rehab and was heading out to find out the results of a liver biopsy. He returned and shared with me the bad news. We prayed again. I gave him a used bible with lots of things underlined. He contacted me 6 weeks later the latest tests showed no liver damaged. He has graduated from rehab and returning to his wife and four children. I prayed with him again and reminded him of the glory of God that had been revealed to him. To always remember our addictive personality is there to be addicted to Him and nothing else can satisfy it.
The majority of our clients are hispanic. My classmates from 9:15 continued got together and purchased 2 1/2 cases of spanish bibles. I have given away all but five. The other day two gentlemen came in. One has been here before and received a bible and prayed with me. He had returned because his friend needed one and the other gentleman wanted one too. What a blessing - people coming here because they know they can get a bible and a prayer.
One of the bus drivers heard of this ministry and used to be a manager of a Christian Literature store, so he sent me two bags full of Bibles. What a blessing!! I was running out of both bags and bibles. The Lord laid it on my heart that it was my responsibility to make sure I serve these people for Him. That day the two bags arrived. Large print, study, paraphrased...just what the next person who walks in needs.
We do not need money but can always use any used luggage and Bibles!!!
We are touching many needy people for Christ right here in Holland. Thank you Lord for allowing us to be a small part of your master plan. Thank you for showing us your fingerprints on all these precious souls and allowing us to touch them with your love.
With a love we share in Christ,
Terrie
