Sunday morning Children's Ministries held a graduation ceremony for fifth graders who are leaving the safe green pastures of C-Zone for the wild, uncharted territory of Ignite middle school ministries. I was reminded again of the great gift God has given us in Mark Ebbers and the volunteers who have served our children for the last 3 years. Mark's meditation on Psalm 37 encouraged the children and parents alike to WALK.
Wicked ways are wrong.
Acknowledge the Almighty in all you do.
Learn from losers and lovers of the Lord.
Know the King.
The 5th graders were given bracelets embossed WALK and my son chanted the meaning all afternoon so he wouldn't forget Mr. Mark's admonition. I am so thankful to the Lord for a church that invests in children, pouring into them the basics of faith so that "when they are old, they will not depart from it." Because of Mr. Mark's influence, my son has developed the habit of daily Bible reading and prayer. Thank you Lord for calling, gifting and equipping people like Mark Ebbers to help plant seeds of faith in the hearts of our children!
