I found myself emotional at the Memorial Day parade, facing the reality that my only son Jon was leaving for training the next day in preparation for his tour of duty in Iraq. But the Lord has given me Psalm 91, especially the last couple of verses as a personal message to me from Him:
"The LORD says, 'Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him, and let him behold my salvation.'"
I have framed these verses and will keep them hanging up till the day Jon comes home! I trust in You, faithful Lord!
