    Phoenix school - Update

Our visit to Phoenix school was terrific! 65 students sat with us and decorated cookies. Some of the teen moms brought their babies in. The students were very appreciative and respectful. I even made a connection with a former third grade student and had quite a conversation with two of the gals about "religion". Any of our community efforts need to have redemptive quality. To creatively "cast the net" requires some thinking. Here is a sample of a message (approved by the principal) that was sent home with each student in a cookie bag last Friday: The dictionary defines Christmas as "A Christian feast on December 25 that commemorates the birth of Christ and is usually observed as a legal holiday." Christmas is a time of year when we show love to other people. The word "Christmas" has the name of Christ in it. According to our Christian beliefs, God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world as a gift. We are here today to give you a gift of love in the name of Christ, because it is His birthday and we want to show God's love to you.
