Local and Urban Highlights

The way God has taken a "taxi bus service" about to be cut from budget to a place with new vision and mission to our neighboring apartment complexes has been awesome to witness. From the Urban and Local Conversations God raised up leaders in Jody and Judy who are not only bus drivers but have a heart for the lost and needy. God has also stirred in the hearts of the "Wisdom for Living" Community Group to be an enfolding class for people getting off the bus. We will be canvasing the neighborhoods with bus pick up times on January 4 with 4 small groups from Central. Pray that we will be received and that our neighbors will see their need. Pray against any obstacles that would hinder these neighbors in joining us.

I have a team of people that also came as a result of the Local and Urban Conversations who have a heart for the Phoenix school (HPS - alternative ed high school, 120 at-risk students) and each month we are building some kind of bridge to this school whether by meeting with the principal to assess needs or decorating cookies with the students for Christmas (going in tomorrow). It is my prayer and hope to see 10-12 families from Central participating in a "Mission Holland" Spring Break Trip to Phoenix school this April.
